Mike Green still not ready, Washington Capitals lose again!

Mike Green skated again this morning before his teammates for about 30 minutes, but he’s still not ready to play. In other “news” the Washington Capitals lost yet again without him last night against the St-Louis Blues in Dale Hunter’s first game as the new head coach.

Coach Hunter only had 1 day to prepare so it’s obvious not everything could click right away, but you would think the Caps could’ve put together a much better effort, at least more energy.

They were out-shot 30-19. At least Vokoun put in a solid performance, and made some nice saves, and the 2 goals he let in weren’t entirely his fault.

Here are some Mike Green quotes from this morning about his injury:

“Yeah, I’d like to be back tomorrow, but that’s not going to happen,”

“It’s just kind of a day-to-day thing. There’s no set schedule. It’s about me getting back into shape and making sure that I’m 100 percent healthy, if not 90 percent at least.”

“Basically right now I’m just able to get out there and skate a little bit, I’m not exerting myself too hard yet, but I’m progressing better each day.  I’ve been out there skating and obviously stopping and starting. As far as game shape, with being explosive, I still have some strengthening to do. Who knows how long that’ll take.”

Here are last nights game “highlights”:
